The Argus

Its that time of the year again. Its Argus Cycle Tour time... Hooray!!! This is my favourite time of the year. The annoyance of the race day, where every conceivable road in and out of town is closed, so people in town cant get out, and people outside of town cant get in, is only marginally overshadowed by the week ahead of the race day. The once peaceful streets around town which previously hosted a maximum of 5 cyclists, and maybe 10 on a weekend, is now flooded with these cycling freaks. All of them taking the road into their own hands. Driving to work this morning I was stuck behind a group of cyclists riding on Victoria Road in Bantry Bay. There were 4 of them and they were driving two two next to each other, making it impossible for anybody to pass them. This, at peak time in the morning. They can thank their lucky stars I was a truck and a car behind them, otherwise they would not be doing the Argus this weekend, because they would be in hospital. I have no patience with these cycling types.

The only good thing about the Argus, is standing at the finish line, watching the young men in tights arriving and perving at them....if that is what you like.
