Last night T and I went to see one of our priests at the Cathedral. I wanted to talk to him about things I have an issue with in my service and in general. He is a friendly round buddah looking priest, who speaks so well, and is so nice to everybody. It turned out to be such a good chat and we stayed there for over an hour. He is such an inspiring person and spoke about God and the church with such passion and conviction. At the end of the discussion, T said that the priest really moved him.
I am so glad we spoke to him and I would love to do that again. He gave such good advise and drew such good analagies. I just wanted to talk more and get more from him. I would love to have him over for dinner at some stage, and chat some more.

We are in deep Shit
This video of the "Don't touch me on my studio" incident is really scary. Not because of the actual video and the taunting of the white bloke and then the oh I am so innocent look they always have when you confront them, but because of the comments below the video. We have some real hectic people still around in the country and in the world. When will our country ever be a great place again. We are busy killing what our forefathers built up and what Mandela has cultivated.

I just don't get it
The freaks come out
This morning all the freaks came out to drive n our national roads again. On the way to work I had two people cut in in front of me (when I say people, I mean woman), and then drive at the speed of snail shit!!! Then going onto the off ramp from the freeway, there was one of those people who felt they dint have to Que with everybody else to get off the freeway, they just drive to the font of the Que and go over the double solid line with yellow arrows and push in. OBVIOUSLY I did not allow this, and he had to brake sharply before hitting the middle man, and then proceeded to swear at me. I just kept on driving and ignored him. I really don't understand where they hide most of the time!

Our new puppy
Yes, we have decided to get a 3rd dog, but only because we know the daddy dog and he is such a good natured and friendly and soft dog. He is a whippet, so he will be a little bigger than Lucca and Leche, and after a very lengthy process of picking a name starting with a L to match Lucca and Leche, we came up with Liquorice. I like the name coz he looks sort of Liquoricy... We will only get him in 8 weeks time, as he was only born last week. We cant wait!

London Road
On recommendation of a friend, we went to the new Fugard Theatre last night in District 6 to see a play called London Road.
First on the theatre: It is an old church that has been converted into the most amazing theatre with the best seats ever. They have put padded benches in and it is so cool, and such a nice old building with original walls exposed. Really cool.
Now about the play: It is the story of an old Jewish lady befriending a Nigerian drug dealing woman in her building. The play follows their unique friendship and how it develops. It was so well acted and reflective. It made me chuckle, it made me laugh out loud and it made me very sad, and made me think about my own parents.
The last time I saw a play that was this good, it was called The Syringa tree and was one woman playing the role of about 5 different people including a black driver, and 8 year old girl and her abusive father.
The play is well worth seeing and I recommend it to ALL Capetonians. Its running at the Fugard Theatre until 8 May: C/o Caledon Str and Harrington Str. 021 461 4554

The great race
I went to Go Kart racing with Tristan's company last night. It was great. At first I thought I would just drive gently and not make any waves, but then T's work boyfriend started getting all hot under the collar and pretending like he was the best driver, so I had to prove him wrong. I won both my heats but did not have the fastest time so in the final I was number 5 on the grid. The last race was about positions and not fastest time, so in the end I ended 3rd after starting on number 5 and the big mouth starting on number 1, finished last. It was so much fun and I realised how much I like to race. It has to be said that the bragger did finish with the fastest time.

Our new baby
We decided that we were going to get another little puppy after a friend offered us one of his Whippet puppies. Its the grey one in the pic. This was taken a few hours after they were born so I will put more better pics up. We are all so excited for the new arrival. All we need now is for my oldest dog to get rid of whatever is bothering him and keeping him, and us, up all night.

My Favourite show
Last night saw the first episode of the final season of LOST. My favourite TV show EVER!!! Now I can already see half the nation groan and moan and say how boring the show is and how they are lost in the plot. All I can say is, those are probably the same people who support Julius..... Lost is a very intelligent show and is a little different from the normal crap about a bunch of housewives who shag each others husbands and go postal afterwards, or an Englishman pretending to play a recovering American trying to find out why the world blacked out for 2 minutes...
Granted, if you have missed one episode of Lost, you will be a little lost, but you can always catch up. This year, season 6 is the final season ever made. They are not going to make anymore after this. That is depressing, but at least it will come to an end.
So Mondays on Series channel at 20:00. Lost.....

One is such funny number
My friend Bruce is in town with his one man show called "Little Poof". We obviously went to see it on Friday night (opening night) an then again on Saturday with the group of friends. It is easily the best show I have seen in a very VERY long time. I always knew Bruce was very talented because while living with me, he used to sing all the time in the shower, while making tea, so I knew the guy could sing. So it was no surprise to me when EVERYBODY else kept on saying how talented he was.
The show is a representation of some of the characters in the gay circle, and include some straight characters, and some 'exploring" ones. There is even a Tokolosh!!! (that's a little mythical medicine man in black culture) What amazed me was how successfully he slipped into the different characters, and how changed the slightest nuance in his voice, or a slight hand gesture to make the character completely believable and the accents were spot on.
If you are in Cape Town, you need to go and see this show immediately. It is showing at Beefcakes in Greenpoint until the 24th of April.
