Craig Ewert

This week in Switzerland:

Craig Ewert, a 59 year old man went to a clinic called Dignitas in Switzerland, and decided to die. Dignitas is a clinic where they assist you and your family to commit suicide. Its an assisted suicide clinic. Craig was suffering from motor neurone disease, which is a disease that attacks the neurons which control your motoring skills, including speech, walking, eating etc. He felt that his quality of life was becoming unbearable, and decided to end it.
As usual there are a few issues here that bug me.

How far will Switzerland go to show they are a neutral, new aged country. Do they have to be objective about EVERYTHING. How can they allow clinics that help people to kill themselves to exist. I think its time to put the record straight here. YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR LIFE. Your life is mapped out by a much greater Mind than yours, and you have no right to change that. Then there is the issue of healing. I can only speak of my own life, and if my family had lived in Switzerland, where it is legal for doctors to kill you, my sister would not be with us today, as she was declared dead in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Imagine what we would have lost. Instead she fought, we fought and the doctors fought for her life, but ultimately, God decided.

There is a need to digress here for a minute. This morning a woman phoned into a local radio station about this, and remarked, like most happy housewives with zero problems, how selfish and cowardly it is to take your own life. You choose the easy way out, and that is cowardly. Again, having been exposed to this situation directly, I don't believe there is anything cowardly about putting a gun to your temple and blowing your brains out, or driving for km's so you can hang from a rope in a tree and slowly watch your life drain away. I can not do it, and that is because I am a coward. I think taking your own life is the least cowardly thing.

My biggest issue in assisted suicides and living wills are that you can say what you want to and do what you want to, in the end it is not up to you. It is pure Inshallah that decides your fate. So go ahead and fly to Switzerland, but if it is not your time, the poison will not work, or they will turn the machine off and you will breath by yourself.

Europeans and Religion

I have now met two separate European individuals who tells me it is accepted practice in their country to use Jesus like we use thank you. They use it constantly and without even blinking. I had a little argument with a girl in the office today about it. I asked her to please not do that, and she said no. She said its part of her and I cant ask her to change that. In Ireland everybody says that all the time. She is a Catholic and she says she bows her head every time she says it, but she cant change it. I then explained t her that she is sharing an office with other people and there are some things that are offensive to others. She said to me that me speaking Afrikaans to someone is then offensive to her. I stopped speaking to her, coz I realised that there is no reasoning with her. She has been caught out on something that she as a Catholic knows she is doing wrong, and is therefore defending it coz nobody likes to be told they are wrong. Also using the Afrikaans as being offensive is just a stupid argument.

So I have gathered that most Europeans have a false sense of religion and don't really know who God is as they use His Son's name in vain just as an exclamation.

The Tattoo

I am off on Saturday to get another tattoo. This will be number three, but this time it is the biggest of the lot. My first one started out about 3cm big on my side, the second is about 10 cm on my back, but this one will be about 20 cm and on my ribs. I can not wait!!! This latest one is going to mean much more to me than any other. Its Arabic writing, and it is the word "Inshallah". It means "by the grace of God". I am getting this, for myself, because I believe that everything in my life happened and happens due to Gods will. The reason why I have chosen the Arabic word, is because for me, there is no other word or phrase in any other language that carries as much power as Ishallah. It is used in the Arabic language as a phrase for every decision, every task every day. Nothing gets done without the Grace of God. So I will keep you all updated on my tattoo and post pics of it during and after. Its going to hurt like hell, but is it going to be very cool. My tattoo attached...

3 am Moments

This is not a moment at 3am when you get woken up and evacuated out of your building (Tristan). You get these moments in life where you get the most amazing clarity, after you have spent about two days and three nights of worrying and lying awake and wondering about what is happening or going to happen. After all of this, you get that one moment of absolute clarity where you feel everything is making sense and everything will be fine and you feel relieved. Last night we watched Eli Stone and a guy on there said he had one of these moments, but believed it was God speaking to him. This made me think about what God sounds like. How do we hear God's voice? I believe that everybody hears God in very different ways. I have had many 3am moments and yes, on some occasions I have heard God speak to me. I have heard, and seen God in many other places and ways also. I think we must all be very aware of what happens around us and specially on a subconscious or spiritual level. God speaks to us all the time, we just need to listen very carefully.

Our bright light

This quote has been played on TV often enough in the past few months by the Carte Blanche advertising maschine, but read this quote again, listen to what you read, and believe in what you read. This is one of the most life changing pieces of writing of our time:

it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.We were born to make manifest the glory ofGod that is within us.It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other peoplepermission to do the same.As we are liberated from our own fear,Our presence automatically liberates others.

Glorious morning

Woke up this morning feeling sorry for myself again, as I usually do when I wake up alone. Got dressed and ready for work, and as I walked outside, I got greeted by these amazing sites in the sky. Almost like God was telling me to stop feeling sorry for myself and see what he has given me for today!!!
